Project Manager

Ideal Builders is a growing commercial construction firm working to build best-in-class projects in the greater Madison area while building partnerships and relationships throughout our community.

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the strategic and day-to-day direction of projects from start to finish. The ideal candidate must possess the knowledge and confidence to engage and professionally interact with design professionals, sub-contractors, and clients, as well as drive and critical thinking to make every project its best.

PROJECT MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Planning and managing building projects from the ground up (i.e. from pre-construction on)
  • Compiling subcontractor bids and budgets to develop estimates and proposals
  • Developing and overseeing project budgets and schedules 
  • Facilitating and championing relationships between architects, subcontractors, internal teams, and clients
  • Using construction management software 
  • Ultimately, making sure each project is well-coordinated and running smoothly
  • Other duties as assigned
PROJECT MANAGER REQUIREMENTS:

  • General contractor experience
  • Must be a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced work environment
  • Must be highly organized and process-driven with an eye for detail
  • Must have inner drive: the desire to grow both personally and professionally

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Physical Requirements: Primarily sedentary work
  • Physical Activity: Primary working position-sitting, with occasional standing, walking, stooping, crouching, and kneeling; frequent reaching, carrying, lifting, pushing, pulling, grasping, typing, talking-speaking clearly, hearing-conversation, and seeing-near.
  • Work/Environmental: Moderate noise level consistent with an office environment
  • Personal/Physiological: Interaction with people, working around people, planning of activities, making judgments in emergency situations, frequent changes in duties and volume of work, intra-organizational communication.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture or construction science/construction management.
  • Minimum of five years’ related experience in commercial projects.
