Our company DNA reflects strong relationships, positive attitudes, and an unwavering commitment to standout results.
We prioritize personal and professional growth, developing clear, individualized goals for both our office and field employees, as well as funding outside training and seminars. Ultimately, wherever our employees want to go in their careers — we do our best to provide the tools and foster the skills they’ll need to get there.
We also listen. Both our office and field employees meet regularly with leadership to discuss challenges, successes, and suggestions for company-wide improvements. These invaluable one-on-one sessions allow Ideal leadership to form a deeper connection with all employees and facilitate a happy, productive, and sustainable work environment.
Field Culture

What does a day look like on an Ideal job site? Well, usually something like this:
A morning superintendent-led meeting to discuss the day’s to-dos and/or safety protocol
Working alongside coworkers you know will always have your back — characterized by strong camaraderie and complete with friendly banter
Swag – not just for the office! Our field staff represents during and after work hours whether it be clothing or Yeti drinkware
A one-on-one meeting between field leaders and their team to discuss challenges, successes, and opportunities for the project as a whole
Office Culture

What does a day look like in the Ideal office? Well, there’s usually some combination of the below:
Freshly brewed coffee plus a morning snack of fresh fruit or nachos…no judgement here
Meetings with clients, subcontractors or field staff about the next awesome project
An abundance of Ideal swag that looks and feels as cozy as our company culture
A friendly (albeit competitive) ping pong match with bragging rights for the winner
No micromanaging - room to make mistakes and turn them into learning opportunities
We couldn’t be more proud to be based in Madison, Wisconsin. Our city continuously ranks among the best in the nation for resident satisfaction, healthy and active lifestyles, safe neighborhoods, excellent schools, and access to award-winning dining and phenomenal entertainment, not to mention it’s home to the University of Wisconsin-Madison (and Badger sports). And all of this coupled with a casual, down-to-earth, small-town vibe make Madison the ideal home for individuals and families of all shapes and sizes.
Career Initiatives
We also support many organizations — including Operation Fresh Start and Big Step — that provide a path forward through education, training, and employment. Through these groups, we’ve hired and mentored individuals eager to launch a career within the construction industry. We’re also proud to maintain a close, supportive relationship with Carpenters Union Local 314.
As a young professional entering the industry, Ideal Builders has given me the opportunity to grow by allowing me to touch many aspects of a variety of different projects. This has strengthened me and set me up for future success as I have gained experiences that I would not have seen working as a Project Engineer at a large company.
