The "Last Build" is underway! Not even the wind and snow could hamper the positive spirits at the Badger Prairie Needs Network groundbreaking yesterday. This addition will double the capacity to distribute up to 4 million pounds of food annually, compared to the current capacity of 500,000 pounds. It will also allow the non-profit to offer additional services, such as health screenings, vaccine clinics, financial education, and housing support.

Congratulations to the Kasyer Lincoln project team, including @kayserfordmadison, @gba_design and @vierbicherwi, on receiving an @ibmadison Commercial Design Award for Best New Development or Renovation.
Through this project, Kayser provides Madison access to Lincoln`s Black Label experience, which was not previously available in this area. Unique features include an in-floor “runway,” highlighting new Lincolns and green-built features. A living green wall hangs in the vehicle bay, which acts as a natural air filter, filtering toxins such as VOCs, and carbon monoxide.

Congratulations to the Foremost Farms corporate headquarters project team, @kahler_slater and Foremost Farms USA, on receiving an @ibmadison In Business Commercial Design Award for Best Renovation – Office. Congratulations to Penny and Lane (sculptural cows) on your new home!
This project transformed the space into one that reflects Foremost Farms` mission and culture while improving employee retention and attraction. The space includes nods to its values and mission, including farmland motifs, rustic barn lights, and a waterfall marble countertop honoring a marble cheese board.

May is National Preservation Month. To celebrate Madison’s heritage, we wanted to share the history of Lucille, a restoration project we completed with @opnarchitects.
Built in the late 1920s, Lucille was first home to Madison’s Capital City Bank, located in the triangular blocks forming a ring around the Capitol. Over the years, this building was renovated numerous times to serve as a radio station and later the Isthmus newspaper.
A renovation of this building in the 1970s covered many of its historic characteristics. The design and construction of Lucille sought to restore much of its original charm and character.
These efforts include:
• A lower-level lounge, located in what was once a vault for Capital City Bank and later a furrier, seats another 30 to 40 people along a banquette bench that wraps around three sides of the vault.
• Uncovering and restoring “Cream City” brick as well as a “ghost” sign which reads “Future home of the Capital City Bank”.
