PROJECT OVERVIEW
This project kicked off by gutting a 1980s-era office building to expose the beautiful bones of the historic structure lying beneath. Arched brick window openings, riveted steel beams, gorgeous brick masonry walls, and an underground bank vault… these were the treasures we uncovered, hidden for decades, that became the foundation for the Lucille build-out. The old bank vault was turned into a lounge and bar area.
A prep kitchen and storage area are situated behind this area. The main floor is outfitted with accordion-style exterior windows that can be opened completely to let the outside in (weather permitting). We used reclaimed materials throughout, topped the first-floor bar with an impressive pewter slab, and installed a concrete deck to the second-floor mezzanine.
